Finding Clarity: FAQs About Therapy
It is natural to have questions before you begin your therapeutic journey. Finding the right answers is the first step toward feeling supported and understood as you move through seasons of change.

Common Questions
How do therapy sessions work?
Sessions are typically 45-55 minutes long and provide you with a dedicated space to explore your thoughts and feelings. We move at your pace, focusing on your specific goals and well-being.
What are your fees and do you take insurance?
I provide clear information about session rates during our initial consultation. If I am an out-of-network provider, I can provide you with monthly statements to submit for insurance reimbursement.
Do you offer telehealth or in-person sessions?
For your comfort and convenience, I offer both secure remote video sessions and traditional in-person meetings at my office. You can choose the format that best fits your lifestyle.
Is therapy strictly confidential?
Your privacy is a cornerstone of our work. Everything you share is legally and ethically protected, with very specific exceptions related to safety which we will discuss during your first visit.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. This allow me to manage my schedule effectively and offer the time to another client in need.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
If you find yourself struggling with transitions, stress, or relationship challenges, therapy can offer valuable support. We can use our first meeting to determine if our connection feels right for your journey.
Can I bring my partner or family member?
Yes, I specialize in relationship dynamics and welcome diverse partnership structures. We can discuss whether individual or relational therapy is the best path for your specific situation.
What if I've never been to therapy before?
That is perfectly okay. Many of my clients are new to the process. I am here to guide you through it, answer your questions, and ensure you feel safe and heard from the very first moment.
Your First Session
The first meeting is a gentle intake process where I focus on understanding your unique story and what brings you to therapy today. We will spend about 50 minutes exploring your current challenges, your goals for our work together, and any questions you may have about my approach. You don't need to prepare anything formal; simply showing up as your authentic self is enough. Together, we will determine if this space feels like the right fit for your healing journey.
